Amanda Doran | Artist in Resident 2018/19

FAMILIAR FACES

Amanda Doran is our Paul Funge Resident Artist for 2018/19: a residency that awards an individual or small group/collective 24/7 access to a studio space, a €2000 bursary, mentorship, an exhibition, and access during normal opening times to facilities such as a print studio, computer room, library, fabrication room and photography studio.

Amanda used her time on the residency to challenge herself with a portrait project that was reminiscent of traditional portrait setups but approached in a fresh, fun, social and engaging manner. Her space quickly became an inviting, almost domestic place for people to meet and chat. Using humble drawing materials Amanda spent her time recording her sitters through her typical energetic, free flowing and fun mark-making explorations.

Amanda plans to hold numerous events throughout the duration of the exhibition to break down the formalities of the gallery space. More details on these events to follow.

Opening Friday 14th June 2019 at 7pm

Exhibition will run until Saturday 29th June.

Opening times: 11am to 3pm, Monday to Saturday.
